The Dalles Grocery Outlet carries great brand names in groceries, frozen foods, refrigerated items, housewares, fresh meat, natural and organic food and products, health and beauty products, fine wines and much more! Our Senior Day is the 2nd Sunday of every month, all day. We offer a 10% discount for our customers 55 and above.

We offer cardboard boxes and reusable bags in addition to plastic grocery bags. We are proud to offer a reusable plastic bag that can hold 22 pounds of weight and be expected to last 128 usages. These bags will only cost 10 cents each and are recyclable at the store at the end of their life.

We have a strong belief in recycling and doing good for the Earth. We limit our waste—if an item has lost its "buy-appeal" for our retail shelf, it is donated to a non-profit organization called Windy River Gleaners. Anything with nutritional value for people, livestock, or that is compostable, is never thrown away.

Indpendent Store Operator photo Independent Store Operators
  • January 2012 will mark 10 years for Brian and Amie Baldy as Grocery Outlet Independent Store Operators.  Prior to becoming an operator, Brian worked for the Eureka California Grocery Outlet from 1991-2001. He started out as a grocery stock clerk and spent 8 years as store management.  Amie spent 6 years with Costco Wholesale Warehouse in Eureka, California, holding various positions including 4 years as their business relations representative. In that time, she built strong professional relationships with their large resale members and managed their accounts, hosted marketing events, and helped grow the business membership base.  In her experience as a front-end supervisor of a 16 register check-out, she was quickly inspired to take on becoming an Independent Operator of a Grocery Outlet store.

After completion of business operations training, they operated their first store in Newark, California, for a year and a half. When The Dalles was presented as a new store opportunity, they both felt it would be the perfect setting for raising their children. Together, they have three children who attend elementary school. The Dalles community has been very welcoming and friendly. Both of the Baldys grew up in Northern California in small communities, so The Dalles has proven to be the perfect fit for them.
