SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Project Manager are to work closely with the Construction Manager and store planning personal to perform Grocery Outlet specific store design and construction. Perform site visits to survey, draft floor plans and confirm work has been completed to GOI standards prior to approving invoices for payment. Visit building departments to confirm, submit and track all permitting entitlement requirements. Work with the GOI real estate department to confirm and submit all required landlord submittals. Create construction schedules used to coordinate the Grocery Outlet POS department and merchandising set crew into one cohesive unit. React quickly to construction changes made late in the store construction schedule required by building inspectors, engineers and GOI executives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Communicates directly with contractors/designers concerning project cost and scheduling.
  • Submit, track all entitlements and Landlord required submittals.
  • Oversees and directs construction projects.
  • On site surveys and production of initial floor and fixture plans in AutoCAD.
  • Review all proposed building plans
  • Track all architecture, engineering and approval permit approval process.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project budgets so that total project cost is always available.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent. 
  2. Minimum of 7 years experience in the Construction industry.
  3. Travel 20%
  4. Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  5. Must be detail oriented with extensive follow-up.
  6. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  7. Ability to write routine correspondence and communicate well verbally with city officials, contractors, vendors and store employees.
  8. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and volume.
  9. Posses understanding concepts of basic geometry.
  10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  11. Ability to handle several functions simultaneously; or to work with several variables within a given situation.

The employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is also required to travel to construction sites as needed approximately 20% of employees time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud depending on the construction taking place during the site visits.
