MacGregor Read

Co-CEO — MacGregor Read began his career in the food industry with Lucky Stores in 1986.  After receiving a B.S. in English from the University of the Pacific, he joined Del Monte Foods in the capacity of Product Manager for one of the company’s strategic business units.  In 1996, he joined Grocery Outlet where he advanced through several positions over the decade to include: Procurement, Retail Merchandising and Real Estate & Construction.  Both, MacGregor and Eric Lindberg  were promoted to the role of Co-CEO in January of 2006.  
 
MacGregor is a Director of the Food Marketing Institute, Katherine Delmar Burke School and San Francisco Zoo.  He is also a member of Young Presidents Organization.

Eric Lindberg

Co-CEO — Eric Lindberg's career at GOI also began in 1996. Since his start in store operations, Eric’s career has taken him through the entire purchasing department: dry grocery, perishables, and GM/HBC. Lindberg was promoted to vice president of purchasing in 2001, where he managed a team of 26 professionals. He holds a degree in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College.

Charles Bracher

CFO — Charles Bracher joined the Company as Chief Financial Officer in 2012. Charles has over 15 years of experience in the consumer and retail sectors having worked in various finance roles at Arnold Palmer Golf, Gymboree, and Bare Escentuals. Most recently, Charles was the CFO at Bare Escentuals, a $2B cosmetics/skincare company where he oversaw a team of 110. He began his career in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York and San Francisco. Charles graduated with honors with a B.S. from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Jeff Oki

CIO & VP of Construction — Jeff Oki has worked his entire career with Grocery Outlet, starting over 40 years ago (1973) as a retail clerk in Berkeley. In his first 10 years with the company, Jeff managed a company-owned store and distribution center, as well as supervised a district of 26 Stores and 3 warehouses in California. For the past 30 years he has lead the technical strategy for the company, becoming V.P. of Information Technology in 1997 and continues in his current role as CIO since 2008.  Jeff graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1980 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics.

In 2009, Jeff took on the added responsibility of VP of Construction, opening over 80+ retail outlets since 2009 and managing an annual budget in excess of $40 million dollars.  Jeff, along with his construction team, has led a massive rebranding effort with décor and exterior upgrades of 170+ stores to reflect the repositioned “Grocery Outlet Bargain Market” banner.

Mike Ward

CAO — Mike Ward joined GOI in 1990 and started The Internal Audit Department, responsible for all accounting functions of the company. He was promoted in 1998 to VP of Finance. In 2001, he was promoted to CFO, overseeing all financial operations of the company. In 2012, Mike took on another new role, and became Chief Administrative Officer for Grocery Outlet. Previously he was President and CEO of Meyers Jewelers. Mike is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Business Administration and he holds a C.P.A. License.

Bill Coyle

VP, Real Estate – Bill Coyle joined Grocery Outlet in 2010. He has spent his entire professional career in commercial real estate, specializing in the shopping center industry. Bill has been a Managing Director with Colliers International, Sacramento, Partner in Commercial Development Company, CBRE and Grubb & Ellis Brokerage, and Regional VP with Dollar Tree Stores. Bill attended Harvard University and is a graduate of UC Berkeley, with a B.S. in Political Science.

Greg Hennig

VP & Controller – Greg Hennig joined Grocery Outlet in 1999. Greg brings over 25 years of retail experience to Grocery Outlet. He started his career in retail management at Ace Hardware. Greg then changed focus from retail operations to finance and accounting and joined the big-four accounting firm Deloitte as a Certified Public Accountant. While at Deloitte, he concentrated in its Consumer Businesses practice as an Audit Manager for middle-market and public retail clients. Before leaving the firm he moved from the public accounting practice to Deloitte’s Controller for the Northern California/Hawaii region. Greg’s responsibilities include management of Grocery Outlet’s internal accounting functions as well as Operations Finance and Independent Operator financial health. Greg holds a BS in Accounting from Golden Gate University.

Marc Drasin

VP Real Estate — Marc Drasin joined the company in February of 2002. He began his real estate career with Greatscott! Supermarkets of Michigan as Assistant Secretary. At PETCO, Marc opened 600 stores, and took the company from 4 states to 41 states and 2 provinces, acquiring 19 other companies along the way. Prior to GOI he was with Blockbuster assisting them with a real estate turnaround. Marc has a degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. He attended Graduate School at Washington University, St. Louis in Chinese on a scholarship and teaching fellowship.

Melissa Porter

VP Marketing — Melissa Porter joined the Grocery Outlet team in 2007. She brings extensive grocery industry experience at the senior level, including prior positions as Senior Director of Retail Marketing for Wild Oats Markets and Director of Sales & Marketing for Central Market, H-E-B Grocery Company's fresh food concept. During her tenure at these companies, Melissa's innovations increased market footprints and improved sales by using new technology, integrated media strategies and creative events. Her grocery background marries with her experience as a CPA at Arthur Andersen to offer excellent understanding of business finances. Melissa holds a BA in Accounting from the University of New Mexico.

Mike Thomas

VP Supply Chain — Mike Thomas joined Grocery Outlet in 2004. Prior to joining the company he was Regional VP for Christian Salvesen. Earlier in his career he managed third party retail contracts for Kroger and Marks & Spencer, the largest retail chain in the UK. He holds a degree in Economics from Durham University, UK. Originally from Liverpool England, he moved to the U.S. in 1986.

Paul Miller

Director of Purchasing — Paul Miller began his retail career with Safeway Stores in 1986. He joined the Grocery Outlet buying group in 1994 where he advanced through various buying positions of increasing responsibility. He left GOI to join a startup company as Director of Purchasing in 2000 where he helped open 80 single-price-point stores. He rejoined GOI in 2002 as Director of Purchasing, where he currently oversees and manages all aspects of Deli, Produce, General Merchandise, Health & Beauty Care and Wholesale operations. He holds a Marketing Degree from Santa Clara University with a Minor in Retail Management.

RJ Sheedy

VP of Strategy — RJ Sheedy joined the Grocery Outlet team in April 2012. Prior to joining Grocery Outlet he was Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Staples, Inc. His seven year tenure at Staples was centered around corporate and business unit strategy, new business development, growth initiative, and integration work. Prior experience includes leadership roles in strategy, business development, analytics, and operations at both Party City and Ariba, Inc. He was also a strategy consultant at The Parthenon Group. RJ holds a BA in Engineering and Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Steve Wilson

VP Purchasing — Steve Wilson began his career with Grocery Outlet in 1994 as a Buyer, with subsequent promotions to Director of Produce, Frozen Foods, Specialty Foods and Director of Purchasing. Prior to joining Grocery Outlet, Steve was the Regional Sales Manager for Pepsico in Northern California for 5 years, where he was responsible for managing sales and overseeing the sales organization for the region. He holds a BS Degree in Economics from Lafayette College, Pennsylvania.

Tom McMahon

VP Sales & Merchandising— Tom McMahon is responsible for retail sales and merchandising. He joined Grocery Outlet in December of 2008, bringing with him more than 20 years of retail, hospitality and food marketing expertise. Tom held senior executive positions with Frito-Lay, Activision, Starbucks Coffee Company and Play N Trade Inc. While at Starbucks Coffee, he led teams in foodservice, retail, licensed and franchise segments spanning the western United States. In Tom’s most recent role as a franchisor, he and his team grew a two-year-old startup retail video game company to 250 stores. Tom earned a BS in Management from Park University in Parkville, Missouri and a Masters degree of Organizational Development from University of Phoenix. He served in the U.S. Marines for over six years with duty in Asia, Philippines and in the White House during the Reagan administration.
