Say hello to Barry and Nancy Sullivan, operators of the Grocery Outlet located in Vancouver, Washington. For Barry,  Grocery Outlet has been a part of his life since he was very young. His father and mother  were store operators and he worked in their store as a young person. After meeting Nancy and getting married they decided they wanted to continue in the store his parents opened in 1982.   They have operated the Vancouver store since 2000.

Barry and Nancy are firm believers in being part of the neighborhood and their store reflects that. They donate to numerous soup kitchens, food banks. The couple also supports the Boy Scouts, Feed a Family program, Habitat-for-Humanity, and baseball and soccer teams.

Barry and Nancy have some great customer stories. One day a regular customer came in for his weekly shopping and all of a sudden began spinning in circles and fell to the ground. Apparently, the man’s pharmacy gave him the wrong medicine causing what might have been a deadly reaction. Thanks to Nancy’s fast actions, he was able to recover. He still thanks Nancy for saving his life every time he shops!
