Eddie and Monica Ortiz are the operators of the Grocery Outlet located in Rancho Cordova, California. In 1979, Eddie started working for Grocery Outlet in Modesto and in 1982, he became manager of the Riverside store. When that store closed, Eddie managed the West Sacramento location, which is where he met Monica. Eddie and Monica got married in 1985 and shortly after began operator training. The training took Eddie and Monica to many stores including locations in Marina, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Burley, Twin Falls, and Medford. In 1990 they were operating their first store in Ontario, California , they moved to West Sacramento in 1992 and 10 years later took the opportunity to have the Rancho Cordova Grocery Outlet.
Eddie and Monica are very involved throughout the community and are dedicated to providing the Rancho Cordova community with whatever it needs. They have received many awards for their efforts including: The Heroes Joining Hands Award for their support of the Folsom-Cordova Community Partnership in 2007 and two awards named them Distinguished Business Partners of the year 2008 by the Board of Supervisors, County of Sacramento and the Cordova Community Council. The couple was even named Volunteers of the Year in 1999 by the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce. They have been extremely active in their community and have enjoyed helping deserving families and children.
Along with their children who help throughout the store and their exceptional team of employees, that they consider family as well, Eddie and Monica provide the people of Rancho Cordova with great bargains and an excellent shopping experience.
