Say hello to Mike and Donna Clancy, the operators of both Grocery Outlet locations in Spokane and North Spokane. Mike and Donna began operating their first location in Spokane in October of 1983, and opened their location in North Spokane in April of 2006. The couple has been working with Grocery Outlet for a total of thirty years. Before operating their own store, Mike was hired by the Wiley family as a minimum wage worker in Beaverton, Oregon. When the company decided to expand to Portland, Mike knew he wanted to go along with the business...
Mike and Donna’s favorite part of owning their own store is being able to know their customers personally. They are very involved in their community and are willing to do most anything to help the people of Spokane. Their store donations to food banks along with working at the banks’ holiday events. They sponsor youth sports including hockey, baseball, and soccer, and stock houses every year for Habitat for Humanity. They even pair up with their customers to give back: their store donates bags of product to all of the churches who fill them up and donate them to the local food banks. Mike and Donna are a perfect example of owners who care about their surrounding community and have a strong will to help.
