Say hello to Steve and Deborah Mullen, the operators of the Grocery Outlet located in Madrona, Washington. While seeking new career opportunities, the couple found Grocery Outlet online back in 2004. They took their first store here in Madrona in 2005. They are excited to be operating their own store and to be part of such an amazing company.

The Madrona Grocery Outlet is a huge contributor to the surrounding community. Every week Steve and Deborah donate to their local farmers market, dedicated to providing people with the freshest produce in the area. Steve and Deborah also support five food banks, six different schools, and 20 different churches. The couple also donates to numerous nonprofit organizations and annually sponsors the Martin Luther King Run, the Breast Cancer Run, the Veterans Association and the Madrona Community Council. Steve and Deborah believe that supporting the community is a responsibility and a privilege.

Along with their pack of helpful employees, including their daughter, Steve and Deborah always put their customers first. One day a customer came into the store with her autistic son. Unfortunately, while the mother was shopping, the young boy broke several items in the store. Steve, Deborah, and employees were quick to help. The boy was upset but the team let him know everything was okay and boosted his spirits. The mother and her son left the store with a cart full of groceries and smiles on their faces. The mother wrote a letter to the store shortly after thanking Steve, Deborah and the employees for their kindness in understanding. The two felt great that the family left knowing they were always welcome back.

Steve and Deborah would like to thank all of their customers for shopping their store. They love being active participants in the community. To everyone who has not shopped at the Madrona Grocery Outlet—go and check it out! Steve and Deborah’s dedication to excellent customer service and exceptional bargains cannot be beat!
